Kumasi based hip hop/hip life artiste, Kojo Amankwaah a.k.a Kojo Cue and fondly called the “punch line king” by his peers and industry players has added his voice to the very much debated topic about Paedae of R2bees fame and B.E.T award winner Sarkodie, who is lyrically endowed?
Speaking to focus fm’s Edem Kobby Mathias (Kobby Drill) in a live studio interview on the 7ELEVEN JOINT, Kojo Cue, from a technical perspective laid out reasons why Paedae is lyrically endowed than sarkodie. He said “rap is about two things; lyrics and delivery. Sarkodie has the delivery but Paedae got the lyrics, that’s why many people are able to flow with Sarkodie and quickly understand what he says in his songs but Paedae is the kind whose lyrics has to be digested before a vivid understanding can be made out of it”. “Paedae is the kind that goes off beat sometimes but it’s no new thing because top hip hop artiste like kanye West and Kendrick Lamar do it often but it’s made in a stylish way so it’s not realized and that’s why many people think he (Paedae) doesn’t rap but talks instead” he added.
Kojo furthermore said “rap isn’t just about rhyming but being able to carry a message across to the listener is what matters and Paedae does it perfectly for him”
Kojo Cue (a.k.a punchline king) is signed onto one of the biggest record labels in Kumasi, Cue records, which is noted for uncovering talents like Lousika, Blurr, Cabum just to name few.
Kojo Cue currently has an 18 track album out called “Before We Shine 2” which is available for downloads on all music sites.
