There’s no question that Apple is working on a 4G LTE iPhone. That’s why various sites have reported that the company is testing a handset with that capability. But there’s a difference between testing and shipping a device. All the way back in August BGR reported that a 4G LTE iPhone was in carrier testing but couldn’t confirm that it was the iPhone 5. The next day Engadget found that LTE equipment was being installed in an Apple Store.
Seeing as it’s been a while since this field testing occurred and LTE never made an appearance in the iPhone 4S — while the new iPad already supports the feature – iMore has chimed in that it’s likely that we’ll see it in Apple’s next iteration of its phone.
